David started in the fire service in 1998 as a volunteer firefighter for the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Dept. This field ignited a deep-seeded passion for public service within him.
David is married to his wife of 14 years, Angela, and they have two boys, Colin and Corbin.
He currently hold a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Sam Houston State University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Service Leadership / Global Disaster and Emergency Management from University of Houston Clear Lake, and an Associates degree in Fire Science from Lone Star College. He is currently in the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program. David is certified as a Master Firefighter, Master Inspector, Master Arson Investigator, Master Instructor III, Fire Officer IV, Driver / Operator, and Incident Safety Officer, through the state of Texas. David is a Master Peace Officer / Peace Officer Instructor through the state of Texas, and EMT / EMT Instructor certifications through the state of Texas. David holds various other certifications and has advanced education from other state and national organizations, as well as numerous awards and accolades for achievement and service.
David is currently a Deputy Chief, Arson Investigator and Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator for the Village Fire Department. David has also served on Tx-TF1 (a state / national urban search & rescue team) and other boards / committees that have given him knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and expertise to serve
the citizens of Harris County Emergency Services District #9.
